Women's Basketball Conquers Canisius for Second MAAC Win

Red Foxes Sweep Buffalo Road Trip for 13th Time in 15 Years

BUFFALO, New York - Marist women's basketball defeated Canisius on Saturday afternoon to complete the road trip sweep and move to 2-0 in MAAC play. This marked the 13th time in 15 years the Red Foxes have swept the Buffalo road trip, with a record of 28-2 vs. Canisius and Niagara for this trip since 2005.
 
SUMMARY
  • Canisius got off to an early lead in the first, holding Marist to 31% shooting from the field and 11% from beyond the arc.

"We had to grind it out today. Canisius had a nice gameplan and offensively they shot the ball really well, especially in second quarter," remarked Coach Brian Giorgis. "We persevered and got another win on the road. It's a good trip any time you go 2-0 on the Buffalo road trip."
