Women’s Basketball Holds Red-White Scrimmage

Fans Get First Look At 2019-20 Red Foxes

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Basketball showcased its 2019-20 squad with its Red-White Scrimmage on Sunday afternoon in McCann Arena.
 
The intersquad scrimmage was open to the public, as fans had the chance to watch the team practice and face off against one another with two teams of seven in a traditional game format. The teams would shuffle players at the end of each quarter.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
NOTABLE PLAYS
  • Rebekah Hand started the game with a pair of triples.
  • In the first, Vander Weide picked off a pass and went coast-to-coast, finding Hannah Hand for the layup.
  • Gilmer cobbled together an offensive rebound and turned it into a turnaround floater late in the opening stanza.
  • In the second quarter, Claire Oberdorf drew a charge on Julianna Bonilla for an offensive foul against the latter.
  • With the shot clock winding down, Bonilla drained a contested three-pointer just after the midpoint of the second.
  • White got the scoring started in the third with a great feed from Allie Best at the top of the key down low to Hannah Hand.
  • Rebekah Hand denied an 18-foot jumper from Oberdorf to force a shot clock violation.
  • In the fourth quarter, Trinasia Kennedy sped past a couple defenders through the paint and scooped in the layup.
  • Hannah Hand faked a trey in the left corner to set herself up for a 10-foot jumper.
