BRONX, New York – On the first day of the Fordham-Four-In-The-Fall tournament, Marist Men's Tennis found plenty of success across the five singles flights doubles flights. Multiple Red Foxes find themselves in the hunt for championships heading into the final day of competition on Sunday, October 6.
 

SINGLES

• In the Agassi "A" bracket, senior Lars Schouten downed FDU's Mehdi Dhouib 7-5, 6-2.
• Juniors John Oxner and Piotr Sowinski advanced in the Courier "C" flight. The former defeated Youssef Sader of the Knights 6-3, 6-3, while Sowinski defeated Army's Anant Mundra 6-2, 6-1.
• As for the Djokovic "D" round, sophomores Kian Yazdi (beating FDU's Andrei Oprizor 6-4, 6-3) and Jack Sequerth (beating Luis Foix of St. Francis Brooklyn 6-3, 7-6 (7)) won their opening matches.
• In his first match of the Edberg "E" flight, sophomore Alexi Watelet dispatched the Terriers' Tom Just in thrilling fashion: 2-6, 6-4, and a 12-10 tiebreak.

 

DOUBLES

• Oxner and classmate Nestor Giribet Lopez defeated Gudins and Pukse of FDU 7-6 (5).
• After losing their opening match, Sowinski and sophomore Augusto Gonzalez Bonorino rebounded in a 6-1 triumph over Autuch and Budinszky from the Knights.
• In the Bryan "B" bracket, Yazdi and freshman Moritz Daxboeck earned a win over the Terriers' Louis and Just before falling to FDU's Dhouib and Cabral.
