BRONX, New York – Marist Men's Tennis collected three flight titles and placed Red Foxes in the finals of five flights in the Fordham Four-In-The-Fall on Sunday, October 6.
- Senior Lars Schouten captured the Agassi "A" bracket.
- He took down Fordham's Max Green 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals.
- Facing Army's Diego Huttepain, Schouten won a tight first set 7-6 (5). After dropping set two 3-6, he triumphed 10-7 in the third set tiebreak.
- Juniors John Oxner and Piotr Sowinski collected wins to reach the Courier "C" final, where the flight concluded.
- Oxner overpowered the Rams' Finn Kemper 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals.
- Sowinski edged Facundo Couso of St. Francis Brooklyn in the semifinals 6-4, 3-6, 11-9.
- Sophomore Kian Yazdi took second place in the Djokovic "D" flight. He won his semifinal match over Fordham's Steven Duka 6-4, 6-3 before falling to FDU's Maciej Autuch.
- After defeating Eduardo Cabral of FDU in the 6-0, 3-6, 10-8 in the semifinals, redshirt freshman Alexi Watelet was victorious in three sets in the Edberg "E" final, dispatching FDU's Taiga Koyama 6-2, 1-6, 10-4.
- Oxner and classmate Nestor Giribet Lopez placed second in the Ashe "A" flight. The duo defeated St. Francis Brooklyn's Grabuleda and Dirube 6-0, but fell to Army's Huttepain and Lake.
"The men continued their stellar play this fall as we placed six players in the second round of the main draw, and came away with three finals wins and a second place.
