Men's Basketball Tripped Up Against Hartford

Cubbage, Turner Lead Red Foxes With 13 Points Apiece

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team was defeated by Hartford by a score of 62-51 in its home opener on Tuesday at McCann Arena.
 
Summary
  • Zion Tordoff scored the first points of the game 44 seconds in, but Hartford responded with a 7-0 run.
  • With 9:13 left in the first half, a three-pointer by Tyler Sagl brought the Red Foxes to within one at 15-14. Hartford then reeled off six straight points on three-pointers by Romain Boxus and Michael Dunne.
  • Hartford used an 8-0 run late in the first half to expand its lead to double digits. Hunter Marks' three-pointer in the closing seconds gave the Hawks a 36-24 advantage heading into the locker room.
  • Hartford's lead reached a game high of 19 on two occasions in the second half.
  • The final margin of 11 was the closest Marist came in the final 19 minutes of the game.
