Women’s Soccer Hosts Quinnipiac In MAAC Quarterfinals

No. 4 Marist Meets No. 5 Bobcats For First Time In Tournament

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The fourth-seeded Marist Red Foxes prepare to play the fifth-ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats in the MAAC Tournament Quarterfinals at Tenney Stadium on Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m.

SEASON RECAP
  • Overall, the Red Foxes went 8-9-1, winning non-conference games against Towson, Loyola (MD), and Delaware State.
  • The team went 5-4-1 in conference, winning four out of their last six games going into the playoffs. Marist beat Quinnipiac, Niagara, Siena, Saint Peter's, and Manhattan.
 
PLAYER PERFORMANCES
  • Sophomore Victoria Colatosti leads the team with 12 points and five goals, and is closely followed by redshirt-sophomore Kristen Prevosto, who has 11 points and four goals.
  • Senior Alexa Svensson has notched six assists, becoming Marist's all-time leader in the process.
  • In goal, sophomore Natalie Kelchner sports a .871 save percentage and 0.94 goals-against average in 13 games.
 
WE'RE TALKIN' PLAYOFFS
  • The Red Foxes are in the MAAC Tournament for the fifth-consecutive season and the 10th time in the last 11 years.
  • Marist's last win in the MAAC Quarterfinals came in 2016, when the No. 6 Red Foxes upset No. 3 Rider 1-0.
  • After capturing the second seed in 2018, Marist vies for its second-straight appearance in the MAAC Semifinals.
 
WE MEET AGAIN
  • The Red Foxes host the Bobcats for the second time this season. Marist took the 1-0 decision on October 2.
  • Junior Jillian Colucci netted the game's only goal in the 60th minute, ripping a shot from the right corner off the left goalpost.
  • The all-time series favors Marist at 3-2-2, tying two years in a row before this season. This is the first postseason matchup.
 
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
  • Quinnipiac, ranked second in the MAAC Preseason Poll, settled for fifth with a 5-4-1 MAAC record, going 9-7-1 overall. The team defeated Canisius, Fairfield, Niagara, Saint Peter's, and Siena.
  • In their last six games, the Bobcats are 4-1-1.
  • Selena Salas headlines the Quinnipiac attack with four goals and 12 points.
  • Meaghan Phillips has played over 1,322 minutes between the pipes, tallying a 0.88 goals-against average and .814 save percentage.
 
PLAYOFF BRACKET
  • The winner of this game will play either top-ranked Monmouth or second seed Fairfield on Thursday, November 7.
  • Depending on the winner of No. 3 Rider and No. 6 Niagara, the lowest seed remaining will play the Hawks, and the highest seed left will visit the Stags.
