POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist men's soccer (8-8, 5-4 MAAC) is set to close the regular season against Canisius (2-14, 1-8 MAAC) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. With a win, the Red Foxes will secure the fourth seed in the MAACÂ playoffs and host the quarterfinal round.

- Despite going down a man on the field, the Red Foxes scored in the 59th minute courtesy of Allen Gavilanes.

- Canisius picked up their most recent win over Niagara on October 9, but have lost six straight since then.

- Beau Hornberger scored Marist's goal in the 89th minute off of a corner kick from Gavilanes.

- Gavilanes is the top scorer for Marist with five goals and five assists for 15 points. In the conference, he ranks eighth in points, 10th in goals and sixth in assists.
- Huib Achterkamp has tallied six goals for the Red Foxes. He stands at seventh in the MAAC in that category, while ranking second in the nation in penalty kick goals with five.
- Freshman Stefan Copetti has been a strong contributor for Marist with his three goals and five assists. He's been named MAAC Rookie of the Week twice this season.

The MAACÂ Quartefinals will take place on Sunday. The #3 seed will host the #6 seed, while the #4 seed hosts the #5 seed. The top seeds have a bye into the semifinal round.
