POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's and women's tennis teams return to action this weekend, as they are both scheduled to take on Siena in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Saturday, March 30 at the Marist Tennis Pavilion. Both teams look to remain undefeated in the conference, as the women are 2-0 in MAAC play, and the men are 1-0 in the conference. This also marks the first home match of the season for the men's team, as they played 13 straight matches away from the Marist Tennis Pavilion. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

The men's team defeated St. Bonaventure 6-1 on Sunday, March 24. The team of
Lars Schouten and
Max Darrington helped secure the doubles point with a victory over Logan D'Angelo and Martin Estevarena. Schouten also earned a victory in his singles matchup, helping lead the Red Foxes to victory in the match. For his performance in the match, Schouten earned MAAC Player of the Week honors. Â

The women's team fell to St. Bonaventure 4-2 on Sunday, March 24, falling to 5-11 on the season. Despite fighting heard to earn the doubles point, along with a dominant performance by
Madison Price to pick up a singles victory, the Red Foxes fell short in the end. Price earned MAAC player of the Week honors for her dominating performance in the match.

The Saints are currently 3-8 this season, and are also undefeated so far in the conference (1-0). All three of their wins this season have come away from home, as they own a 3-4 away record. Siena is riding a three-match losing streak heading into this weekend's matchup, most recently losing 6-1 to Sacred Heart. Mohamed Sawani picked up the sole point for the Saints, earning a victory in the fourth singles spot.

The Saints are 9-5 overall this season, and are 2-0 in the MAAC so far this season. They are 5-4 in away matches this season, which includes a road win against MAAC foe Rider on Sunday, October 7. Last time out, they swept the Monmouth Hawks 7-0 on Sunday, March 24. Ann Phillips had a huge match, helping secure the doubles point with a victory in the third doubles slot, and then sweeping her singles opponent to in the sixth singles spot to close out the sweep.

The women's team will travel to Stony Brook for a non-conference match on Sunday, April 7. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m. Meanwhile, the men have a quick turnaround, as they will host Army on Tuesday, April 2. That match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
