Red Foxes Fly to Jacksonville for Friday Night Season Opener

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's soccer team embarks on their 2019 campaign on Aug. 30, when the Red Foxes fly south for a non-conference matchup at Jacksonville at 7 p.m.

The squad is coming off of a successful 2018 season in which they recorded their best conference record in two decades at 6-2-2. The team went 8-5-5 overall, recorded their best ranked-win since 2000 over #17 Pacific and received three All-MAAC honorees.

Though the Red Foxes graduated a number of starters and talented players, the team retains much of the group from last year and adds ten newcomers that look to make an immediate impact.

Marist has added ten newcomers, which feature eight freshmen and two transfer students. Samuel Ilin and Huib Achterkamp are coming from LIU Brooklyn after a campaign that saw the Blackbirds win an NEC Championship and appear in the NCAA tournament. Ilin was named the ECAC and NEC Rookie of the Year.

A DIVERSE ROSTER
  • The 27-man roster features players from six different countries, with eight Red Foxes coming from outside the U.S.
