HAMDEN, Connecticut – Senior
Lars Schouten defeated Wesleyan's Carter to win the A Singles in the Quinnipiac Invitational on Sunday, September 22.
The victory is Schouten's second-consecutive title in a Quinnipiac fall tournament, joining his in 2018's Fall Open. The senior won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. He defeated two other Wesleyan student-athletes as well as Edwards from Fairfield in his run to the championship.
"Lars was a combination of tenacity, perseverance, and athleticism in defending the title he won last year," commended Director of Tennis

- Junior Piotr Sowinski met Fordham's Mauritzson in the B Singles finals. In a close contest that went to a third set (1-6, 6-2), Sowinski fell 10-8 in the tiebreak.

- "The team represented very well this weekend. Our Number One doubles team reached the semifinals, and in singles, we had six players advance to the second round, five players to the quarterfinals, three to the semi-finals, won the A flight and came in second in the B Flight." – Sussman
Marist is idle next weekend before playing in the Fordham Four-In-The-Fall on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6. The Red Foxes will face the host Rams, FDU, and St. Francis Brooklyn.
