POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist men's soccer (0-1) looks to bounce back against Gonzaga (0-2) in the first home game of the season on Friday, September 6. The inaugural showdown between the Red Foxes and Bulldogs begins at 7 p.m.

- Marist dropped a hard fought battle to Jacksonville by a score of 2-1 in their season debut.
- Samad Bounthong gave the Red Foxes the lead late in the first half on a feed from Allen Gavilanes, but the Dolphins responded before the break and then again in the 82nd minute for a comeback victory.
- Marist recorded 17 shots with eight on goal, and held Jacksonville to seven total shots with four on goal.
- The Red Foxes also had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- The Bulldogs are off to an 0-2 start to the season, most recently dropping their home opener to Sacramento State by a score of 2-1.
- Freshman Cole Rovegno scored on a free kick from 25 yards out in the 56th minute to put Gonzaga on the board.
- Not unlike Marist, the Bulldogs had the advantage in shots (14-9) and shots on goal (6-4), but could not close out for the victory.
- Goalkeeper Johan Garibay has four saves on seven shots on goal so far in the season for a save percentage of 57.1 percent.
- The Bulldogs had a record of 2-12-2 in 2018, but look to turn that around in 2019.
