Women's Soccer Stuns Loyola In Final Seconds

Prevosto converts header with seven seconds remaining.

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Redshirt sophomore midfielder Kristen Prevosto tapped a header into the top-right corner of the goal with seven seconds left in regulation to lift Marist to a dramatic, 2-1 victory over Loyola (MD) in the Red Foxes' home opener at Tenney Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Marist improves to 3-2 on the season and grabs its first win in the Queen City this year. Loyola (MD) drops to 1-4 on the campaign.
THE SUMMARY

  • Junior goalkeeper Abigail Renaud made two saves in the final three minutes of the first stanza.
  • In the 76th minute, Colatosti was taken down in the box to set up a Marist penalty kick. Sperley tucked the ball in the bottom-right corner to knot the game at one.
  • As the clock ticked under 10 seconds in the second half, Colatosti sent a cross into the box. Prevosto, occupying the right side, redirected the ball over Andres' head.
