Women’s Soccer Tripped Up Against Maine

Prevosto scores in second-consecutive game, Red Foxes earn 11 corners.

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Redshirt sophomore Kristen Prevosto found the back of the net for the second-straight contest, but Maine responded with two unanswered goals to drop Marist 2-1 on Thursday evening at Tenney Stadium.
 
The Red Foxes fall to 3-3 on the season, while the Black Bears earn their fourth-consecutive win to move to 4-1.
 
THE SUMMARY
  • Prevosto set the tone in the 13th minute, as senior defender Alexa Svensson placed a corner kick into the box. Prevosto put her head on it, and the ball deflected off a Black Bear and in.
  • Maine's Nicole Bailey answered with a header of her own into the lower-right corner in the 20th minute, set up via a cross from 30 yards out by Saylor Clark.
  • Junior goalkeeper Abigail Renaud collected a save on Hannah Bamford in the 26th minute.
  • In the 68th minute, Emilie Andersen snuck in into the box from the left side, lofting a shot into the upper-right corner to put Maine in front.
  • Senior midfielder Taylor Mongno rocketed a 20-yard free kick just inches high and wide of the upper-left corner in the 75th minute.
