POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – With the 2020 MAAC Championship less than four months away, Marist Men's Tennis has begun preparations for the 2020 spring portion of its season, which the program fully released on Saturday.
 
The schedule includes six home matches and 17 total schools. Marist will take on five MAAC teams in conference play ahead of the 2020 MAAC Championships in late April.
 
"I am very excited about the men's schedule for 2020, as we have three matches locally where fans can watch us play before the outdoor campaign starts in April. The men have a number of high-quality non-conference opponents, including Purdue, St. John's, UConn, Colgate, Lafayette, Bucknell, Lehigh and Hofstra. This top-level competition will prepare us for MAAC play in the spring."
 

JANUARY

• The Red Foxes return from their winter break to face Purdue on Saturday, January 18 at 6 p.m. from West Point, NY.
• At the same place, Marist squares off against St. John's on Saturday, January 25. First serve is expected at 1 p.m.

 

FEBRUARY

• Marist opens the month at Colgate on Saturday, February 8 at 6 p.m. The Red and White took down the Raiders 5-2 in Hamilton, NY on February 9, 2019.
• Two weeks later on Saturday the 22^nd, the Red Foxes head out to Williamsport, PA to challenge La Salle at 9 a.m.
• The next day, Marist faces host Bucknell at 10:30 a.m.

 

MARCH

• On Sunday, March 1, Marist and Lafayette meet in Schenectady, NY for a Noon serve.
• The first home match of the spring season is on Sunday, March 8 at Cross Court Tennis Facility as the Red Foxes host UConn. In a spring dual match on April 6, 2019, Marist nabbed the 5-2 win.
• Marist hits the road again, visiting the College of Charleston on Saturday, March 14 at 11:30 a.m.
• The South Carolina road slate wraps up on Tuesday, March 17 with a dual against SC State at 1 p.m.
• The Red Foxes are back home to battle Hofstra on Thursday, March 26 at Marist's Tennis Pavilion. First serve is expected at Noon. The Pride was victorious in last season's tilt.
• On Sunday, March 29, the Red and White travels to Lehigh for a 2 p.m. match.

 

APRIL

• MAAC play returns as Marist visits on Siena on Saturday, April 4 at Noon.
• The Red Foxes begin a three-match homestand with defending MAAC champion Monmouth the next day at Noon.
• Fairfield comes to town on Thursday, April 9 at 3 p.m.
• In the final non-conference match of the season, Marist tackles Rt. 9 rival Army at Noon on Tuesday, April 14.
• Marist returns to MAAC competition with a match at Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 18 at 3 p.m.
• The regular season concludes in Poughkeepsie with Niagara on Sunday, April 19 at 1 p.m.

 

MAAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

• The 2020 MAAC Men's Tennis Championships take place at the Mercer County Park Tennis Center.
• The semifinals begin on Saturday, April 25 at 2 p.m. The championships is the next day at the same time.
• The top-four teams in the regular season will advance to the MAAC Championships.
