Marist’s Comeback Comes Up Short At Siena

Sagl Leads Red Foxes With 17

ALBANY, New York - The Marist men's basketball team was defeated by Siena, 70-57, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at the Times Union Center on Friday night.
 
The Red Foxes trailed by as much as 19 in the first half, and cut it to three in the second half, but were unable to draw any closer.
 
Summary
  • Siena scored the game's first nine points, which led to a Marist timeout at the 16:15 mark.
  • Tyler Sagl then hit three three-pointers in a span of 2:49 to bring the Red Foxes to within three, but the Saints answered by scoring 16 straight to go up 19.

"They were being really physical with us," head coach John Dunne said. "When we were disciplined, and we were getting good cuts and good movement off the ball, we were getting good looks. At one point, I thought we had a few that just didn't drop, but give Siena credit, they played really well tonight."

  • Marist is now 4-14 overall and 3-6 in the MAAC.
  • Siena improved to 8-9 on the season and 4-4 in conference play.
