VESTAL, New York - Both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams return to action on Friday afternoon, as the squads return to the pool after a month off from competition. The Red Foxes are traveling to Vestal, NY for a non-conference matchup against the Binghamton Bearcats.

Swimming and diving spent time during the winter break training in preparation for the second half of the season. Swimmers trained in an Olympic sized pool at the Orlando YMCA Aquatic Center. The divers utilized platformers for drills and partook in dry land training which included trampolines and spring boards for flipping.

At the midway point of the 2019-20 season, both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams are off to a fantastic start. Both teams will look to continue their momentum into the 2020 portion of their schedules. The women's team finished the calendar year with a record of 7-3, while the men head into the new year with a record of 8-2. Check out the full

The last time both teams were in action was when both teams participated in the H2Ounds Invitational, both finishing in second place in the competition. The winner on both sides of the event was Loyola Maryland. The Grey Hound women scored 1028 points in the competition, while the Marist women were right behind them with 964.5 points. Loyola's men's team won with a little more cushion, scoring 1119.5 points to the Marist men's 837.5 points.

The Binghamton men's team is 2-3 so far this season, and 2-0 in their own home pool. They most recently finished in third place out of 14 teams in the FIU Sprint Invite on Saturday, January 4. A name to watch is Ryan Cohn, who led the Bearcats at the FIU Sprint Invite with a first-place finish in the men's three-meter diving event.
Meanwhile, the Binghamton women's team is 3-3 so far this season, and is also undefeated at home, sitting at 3-0. The Bearcats finished in fourth place of 13 teams at the FIU Sprint Invite in their last event. A name to watch is Kaitlyn Smolar, who led Binghamton in their last event by placing fourth in the 400-yard free.

The Red Foxes will return to the pool next Friday, January 17, as the diving teams will compete in the Navy Diving Invitational. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and will continue for a second day on Saturday, January 18 which will begin at 10 a.m.
