POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist head men's basketball coach
John Dunne has announced the signing of Noah Harris to a National Letter of Intent. Harris will join the Red Foxes for the 2021-22 season with four years of eligibility.
"We're really excited to have Noah join our family," Dunne said. "He's a person of high character. Even though he has a tremendous ability to put in the ball in the basket, we really appreciate his unselfish nature. He can really shoot the ball, and we're excited about the potential of his playmaking ability."
A skilled combo guard, Harris enjoyed a tremendous amount of individual and team success last season. He averaged 16.5 points, 7.3 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game while draining 99 three-pointers and maintaining an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.61-to-1.
Harris helped lead Rutgers Prep to a 27-2 overall record. The Argonauts were ranked nationally in the Top 20 by MaxPreps, and captured the Somerset County championship for the first time in 37 years. Rutgers Prep also went undefeated in Skyland Conference competition.
Harris' efforts resulted in All-State and All-County accolades by NJHoops, a First Team All-Area selection by the Courier-News, and First Team All-League honors by the coaches. His head coach, Matt Bloom, believes that Harris' attributes on and off the floor will result in collegiate success.
"Noah is an energetic leader, a relentless competitor, a gifted playmaker, an outstanding shooter, and an Honor Roll student," Bloom said. "He possesses all the qualities that will make any team better!"
Harris played AAU ball for Team Rio University.
Marist is headed into its third season under Dunne's leadership in 2020-21.
