Skylar Harrison of the Marist volleyball team was honored as Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The middle blocker from Ashburn, VA was named CoSIDA Academic All-District following last season. Harrison also made the MAAC All-Academic Team following her sophomore year, and was a member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll both as a freshman and a sophomore.
The business administration major has made the Dean's List in all four of her previous semesters at Marist. In addition to her school work, Harrison also serves on Marist's Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and has spent time volunteering for Girl Scouts Sports Sampler, Habitat for Humanity, and Grace Smith House.
On the court, Harrison has played an important role for the Red Foxes each of the last two years. In 2019, she played in 20 matches and appeared in 49 sets. For the year, she had a career-high 46 kills on a .219 hitting percentage. For her career, Harrison has totaled 91 kills, 53 total blocks, 21 digs, and seven service aces.
