Women's Tennis Prepares For La Salle, Bucknell

Marist Plays Two Matches In Williamsport, PA

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Tennis seeks its first win of the spring on Saturday, February 22, as the Red Foxes match up against La Salle from Williamsport, Pennsylvania at 2 p.m. for the first time in dual match play in program history.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes fell short to Binghamton last Saturday, 1-6.
  • Julia Gabay had her fourth win of the season in No. 1 singles.
  • Amy Galloway and Sophia Chavarria secured their third straight win in No. 3 doubles.
  • However, the Bearcats were able to capture the doubles point and five singles matches, allowing them to improve to 2-7 overall.

SCOUTING LA SALLE
  • The Explorers are currently 0-3 after getting swept in the first three matches of the spring season.
  • La Salle lost to MAAC-foe Siena, 0-7, on February 15.
  • They lost to Providence the day before, 1-6, where senior Ali Snyder was the sole victor at No. 1 singles.
  • The Explorers play Bucknell on Friday, February 21, just a day before they are scheduled to match up against the Red Foxes.
 
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
  • The Bison enter the weekend at 3-2, with those three victories coming in the previous four matches.
  • This year, Bucknell defeated Niagara 4-3, but fell to Siena 7-0.
  • They have beaten Wagner and Saint Francis (PA) in their previous two matches, outscoring their opponent 13-1.
  • Marist and Bucknell competed together in the Bucknell Invite in Marist's 2019-20 opener back in the fall.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Red Foxes will stay in Williamsport, PA with the men's team for their match against Bucknell on Sunday, February 23 at 1 p.m. before visiting Army on Friday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m.
