WEST POINT, New York – A shorthanded Marist team sustained a 7-0 loss to Army on Friday evening in Orange County.
Marist drops to 3-6 in dual matches this season, while the Black Knights jump to 11-3.
- Junior captains Julia Gabay and Sam Galu suffered a 6-1 setback to Stephanie Dolehide and Caroline Vincent 6-1 in the top flight.
- In No. 2 doubles, senior Amy Galloway and junior Sophia Chavarria fell 6-2 to Hannah Boubel and Sasha Inchauste.
- Danna Funaro and Elizabeth Gilbert got the best of senior Jada Tijani and freshman Nina McAllan 6-2 in the third position.
- In the first flight, Chavarria dropped straight sets to Dolehide, 6-3, 6-3.
- McAllan was unable to beat Vincent in the second position, falling 6-4, 6-1.
- Boubel got the best of Galu 6-3, 6-2 in No. 3 singles.
- In the fourth spot, Galloway fell short of Maryjo Pidgeon, 6-3, 6-0.
- Tijani was stopped in the fifth flight by Gilbert, 6-4, 6-0.
- Marist did not field a sixth player for singles, giving Army the default point.
