POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist men's lacrosse begins its quest to defend its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship this weekend, as the team prepares to host Binghamton on Saturday, February 8. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.  Â

- The Red Foxes secured their third MAAC Championship title last season as they defeated Quinnipiac in a thriller, 15-14.
- In the regular season, Marist finished 10-7 overall and 6-1 in the conference.Â
- In addition to being named All-MAAC First Team, Peyton Smith was selected as Face-Off Specialist of the Year with his career-high .647 faceoff win percentage.
- Head coach Keegan Wilkinson was named BSN Sports MAAC Coach of the Year for the third time in his career.Â
- The Red Foxes were a big threat at Tenney Stadium in 2019, going 5-3 (including the postseason) in Poughkeepsie.

- Marist was selected to repeat as MAAC Champion in this year's preseason poll.
- As decided by the leagues eight head coaches, the Red Foxes received seven of eight first place votes, totaling 63 points in the poll.
- Detroit Mercy collected the lone other first place vote, and was picked to finish in second place with 49 points.
- Quinnipiac (42), Canisius (41) and Monmouth (37) rounded out the top five.
- Peyton Smith was voted Preseason Co-Player of the Year alongside Quinnipiac's Jake Tomsik.
- Jake Weinman was selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Team, as was Smith.

- The Red Foxes last matched up against the Bearcats in 2018 and Marist was able to squeak out an 8-7 victory at Tenney Stadium. Â
- Brian Corrigan finished with 10 saves and a .588 save percentage while Joe Tierney led the Red Foxes with four points in the game. Â
- The Red Foxes played aggressively as they were able to get more shots off (38-31) and forced more turnovers (10-7).Â
- Stephen Petrelli led the Bearcats with five points, coming from three goals and two assists. Â

- The Bearcats were 2-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference in 2019.
- Binghamton's two victories last season came against the University of Hartford and UMass Lowell.Â
- The Bearcats graduated their star player, Joe Licata, who led the team with 34 points last season.Â
- Returning this season is attackman William Talbott-Shere, who scored 26 points for the team last season which was the second most on the roster.

The Red Foxes hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to take on Richmond on Friday, February 14. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
