Men’s Basketball Opens Hercules Tires MAAC Championship Tuesday

Red Foxes Open Tournament Play Against Niagara

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The 11th-seeded Marist men's basketball team will open play in the 2020 Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday night. The Red Foxes will face #6 Niagara at 9 p.m. at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
 
How To Follow
  • Radio: Dean Darling (play-by-play) and Ed Weir (analyst) will have the audio call for all of Marist's games in the championship on the Red Fox Network. Coverage for each game will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off on GoRedFoxes.com.
  • Television: The entire championship will be covered on the ESPN Family of Networks. The opening and quarterfinal rounds will be carried on ESPN3. The semifinal will air on ESPNEWS. The championship game will be televised on ESPNU.

Vs. Niagara, 2019-20
  • Marist won both regular-season meetings against Niagara. The Red Foxes prevailed by a score of 67-48 at Niagara on Jan. 31, and earned a 76-54 victory at McCann Arena on Feb. 23.
  • The game at Niagara was the lowest point total Marist held an opponent to this season, and the game in Poughkeepsie was the Red Foxes' largest margin of victory this season.
 
Championship History - Niagara
  • This will be the sixth meeting between Marist and Niagara in MAAC Championship history, which ties Canisius, Iona, and Siena for the highest total of any of the Red Foxes' opponents.
  • Marist has prevailed in 2008 (quarterfinals) and 2011 (opening round).
