POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Men's Soccer Head Coach Matt Viggiano captured his 100th career win at Marist as the Red Foxes defeated Rider 4-2 in a Wednesday evening MAAC matchup at Tenney Stadium.

Marist boosts its conference record to 3-2, which is tied for second place in the MAAC and 6-6-1 overall. The Broncs fall to 2-2 against conference foes and 5-5-1 in 2021.

Four different Red Foxes found the back of the net. Freshmen
Richard Morel and
Andre Cutler-DeJesus scored in the first half as Marist sported a 2-1 edge at halftime. In the second frame, junior forward
Stefan Copetti and senior midfielder
Jacob Schulman kept the Red Foxes ahead by two goals to power the victory.

Morel paced Marist with three points. In addition to the goal scorers, graduate forward
Kyle Galloway and midfielders
Skylar Conway and
Henrique Cruz notched assists. Senior goalkeeper
Samuel Ilin totaled four saves.

Lenny Cidolit registered a goal and an assist to lead Rider, while Zaki Alibou tallied the other Broncs goal. Guillaume Veinante made five saves between the pipes.
- Marist ignited the scoring 2:24 in, as Conway fed Morel inside the box. The rookie got space to bury the ball for a 1-0 lead for the home crowd.
- Rider equalized with exactly 20 minutes left on the clock. Cidolit played the ball down the left wing for Alibou, who beat Ilin near the left post.
- In the 32nd minute, Cutler DeJesus toed the end line by the right post. After initially attempting a cross that deflected back to him, the rookie blasted the ball by Veinante. The goal was initially waved off with an offside call, but after a discussion between the officials, the goal stood.
- Just 63 seconds later, Rider's Tyrell Moore tackled graduate forward Justin Jaime on a counter, leading to a red card for the Bronc and 10 men the rest of the match for the visitors.
- Three yellow cards followed the red, two on Marist and one on Rider.

- Less than a minute in, Adel Al-Masude got a shot off a throw in that Ilin stopped.
- In the 51st minute, after senior captain Justin Scharf's shot clanged off the right post, Cruz lofted a ball to Galloway, who crossed to Copetti for the redirected one-timer to put Marist on top 3-1.
- The Broncs scored less than five minutes later off a corner kick. The Red Foxes were unable to cleanly clear the ball as Cidolit finished to cut Rider's deficit to 3-2.
- Schulman put the game away in the 69th minute, as Morel passed from the middle to the right side. Schulman shook off a defender near the edge of the box and tucked a rocket into the upper-right corner.
- In the 78th minute, Cidolit vied for the brace, but Ilin made a leaping save to keep the advantage to 4-2. The ensuing Rider corner kick did not yield a shot.
- Ilin collected his final save with 5:36 to play, denying Alibou.
- Marist outshot Rider 14-9, including a 9-6 edge in shots on goal.
- Scharf led the home team with three shots.
- Seven total Red Foxes notched points in the contest.
- The Red Foxes also had the 9-6 advantage in corners, with seven of Marist's coming in the first 45 minutes.
- Possession favored Marist 72-28 percent.

- Copetti extends his points streak to nine games, and has a goal in six consecutive matches. She has a team-best seven goals and 17 points on 40 shots this year.
