POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's lacrosse team defeated Manhattan, 9-7, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest on Saturday night at Tenney Stadium. It was the season opener for both teams.

• Manhattan's Meghan Rodino scored the game's first goal 59 seconds in, but Kerri Gutenberger answered for the Red Foxes 59 seconds afterward.
