POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist head baseball coach Chris Tracz announced that the program will be holding walk-on tryouts on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at McCann Field from 11:15 a.m.-1:45 p.m.
 
Requirements

• Health forms must be current, completed, and updated in Health Services.
• Eligibility forms must be completed.
  • Forms will be available for pickup starting on Saturday, Aug. 28.
  • Forms are located at the Marist Baseball Office (Coaches' Suite, second floor of McCann Center).
• Must attend the NCAA Eligibility Meeting.
  • Date: Wednesday, Sept. 1 – 7:15 p.m.
  • Place: Nelly Goletti Theatre (Murray Student Center)
• Must be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

 
Format
Position Players – Pro-Style Workout
 

• 30- and 60-yard sprints
• Batting practice rounds
• Defensive skills session
  • Skill work
  • Evaluation period
• Simulated game at-bats (dependent on number of participants & pitchers)

 
Pitchers – Bullpen
 

• Full warm-up & stretch
• Long toss & skill session
• 30-pitch bullpen session with simulate hitters (radar, video, & Rapsodo) – live at-bats dependent on number of participants

 
Prospective walk-on athletes should be prepared, utilizing a training practice routine weeks in advance of the workout.
