POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist volleyball team's home opener is tomorrow, August 31, at 7 p.m. The Red Foxes will welcome the University at Albany to Poughkeepsie for the first home sporting event of the 2021-22 season at Marist. Be sure to come out and show your support!

LAST TIME OUT

• The Red Foxes opened the 2021 season with the Cactus Classic in Tucson, Arizona. 
• Marist squared off against host Arizona is its season opener, but dropped the match in three sets. 
• A few hours later, the Red Foxes earned their first win of the season over UCSD thanks to big performances from Morgan Owens, Gabriella Heimbauer, and Sasha van der Merwe. 
• The next day, Marist closed the tournament against New Mexico State but lost 3-0.

SCOUTING ALBANY

• The Great Danes also enter Tuesday's contest with a 1-2 record.
• They recently wrapped up play at the Syracuse Tournament, defeating the University at Buffalo but losing to Syracuse and UConn. 
• Last season, Albany went 10-5 (9-3 AEC) but lost in the first round of the AEC Tournament. 
• The Great Danes were picked to finish first in the AEC this season's preseason poll.

• The Red Foxes head to Cambridge, MA for the Harvard Invitational this weekend. Marist has a total of three games scheduled against Harvard, Merrimack, and Austin Peay throughout the weekend.
