POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist volleyball team dropped the final match of the Mason Invitational to the UNCG Spartans in three sets on Sunday afternoon. The Red Foxes close play of their final in-season tournament of the season with a 2-1 record. 

The Red Foxes are now 5-6 overall on the 2021 season. 

 

SUMMARY

• Marist lost to the Spartans in the first set by a score of 25-17.
• UNCG continued that momentum into set two and won 25-15. 
• The Spartans closed out the game quickly with a 25-20 win in set three. 

 

STATS/NOTES

• Waumans led Marist with 11 kills in the match, giving her 65 for the tournament. She added 11 digs for a double-double. 
• Morgan Owens tied for the team dead with 11 digs. 
• Jillian Hanna had a career-high three service aces, which was a team-high. 
• McKinley Fox had 26 assists.

• Marist opens MAAC play with its Buffalo trip next weekend, with the first match coming against Niagara on September 18. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
