POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist volleyball team fought a long, hard five sets against the visiting Seton Hall Pirates, before eventually losing 3-2. The Red Foxes didn't hesitate to display their never-quit attitude, fighting back to make it a game after being down 2-0.
Marist put up a fight for the entirety of the match, but were outplayed in the final set, only scoring five points. With this loss the Marist Red Foxes fall to 3-5 on the season with Seton Hall moving up to 4-3.

- The Red Foxes came out with chemistry as we saw McKinley Fox logging 6 assists in the first set. However the Pirates eventually took the first set 25-14
- Things looked more competitive in the second set with both teams tied 10-10 until the Pirates rallied for the back-to-back set victories with a 25-15 final. Gabby Murray led the game with eight points at the end of two.
- Things turned around for Marist in the third as the Red Foxes went on 7-0 run to take the set 25-21 making it a 2-1 match heading into the fourth.Â
- The momentum continued to start the fourth as Marist forced Seton Hall to an early timeout up 5-1. Eventually, with the help of Jordan Newblatt's five kills, the Red Foxes tied the match securing their second set victory 25-16
- With the series tied at two apiece, the Red Foxes headed into the 5th, but couldn't get the offense going falling in the final set 15-5.Â

- Jordan Newblatt and Gabby Murray led Marist with a season-high 13 kills each. Newblatt added 18 digs for a double-double.Â
- Perri Lucas led Seton Hall with 12 kills
- McKinley Fox led the game in assists with 41. She added 12 digs for a double-double.Â
- Morgan Owens had a team-high 26 digs.Â
- Murray had three service aces to lead Marist.Â
- Taylor Jakubowski and Calga Bengi totaled 17 assists each for Seton Hall
- Seton Hall outhit the Red Foxes .245-.165.

Marist will look to find its next victory in the George Mason Invitational against Morgan State University.
