POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The
 Marist women's basketball team defeated by league-leading Fairfield, 59-39, in Metro Atlantic Athletic conference Thursday evening. The Red Foxes now fall to 8-11 overall and 4-5 in conference play, the Stags move to 12-6 overall and 9-1 in MAAC play.Â

- The Fairfield Stags started the game off strong making 5-of-6 field goals, to grab the lead 10-7. The Stags finished the quarter shooting 43.8 percent from the field, the Red Foxes shot 41.7 percent from the field.
- In the second quarter, The Red Foxes fell into a scoring drought of 3:06, committing three turnovers allowing the Stags to capitalize with a 8-0 run over 3:11.
- Fairfield outscored Marist in the second quarter 18-7 and were outrebounded 9-6. Ending the half with Fairfield leading, 33-15.
- The Red Foxes started the second half strong with a quick eight points to chip away at the Stags lead.
- A Marist scoring drought of 2:07 with five minutes remaining allowed Fairfield to go on a 7-0 run to extend its lead.
- The Stags continued to grow their lead in the fourth quarter outscoring the Foxes 13-7 and would never let Marist get close.

- The Red Foxes had only one player score in double figures, Zaria Shazer (11).
- For the game, Marist shot 15-of-53 (.283) from the field and 7-of-29 (.241) from three.
- The Stags outrebounded the Red Foxes 38-32, twenty-nine of Fairfield rebounds were defensive boards.
- The Stags had two players scoring in double-digits, Lou Lopez-Senechal (20), Andrea Hernangomez (16). Lopez-Senechal shot 8-of-16 from the field and 2-of-3 from three.
