POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Fifth-year senior kicker
Luke Paladino of the Marist football team was named Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week on Sunday.
Paladino scored 12 points in Marist's 37-7 win over Presbyterian on Saturday. He was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, and 3-for-3 on extra point tries. His field goals came from 22, 32, and 48 yards out. The 48-yard field goal was his longest of the season and tied for the third longest in program history. It was Paladino's sixth career field goal of at least 45 yards.
On the season, Paladino is 10-for-11 on field goal attempts and 17-for-17 on extra point tries.
This is the first PFL weekly honor in Paladino's career. It is the third time a Red Fox has won a weekly award this season.
Brock Bagozzi was named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 25, and
Clayborne Fields III was named Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 9.
The Marist football team (3-5 overall, 3-3 PFL) will return to action on Saturday at Morehead State (2-6, 1-4). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
