Men’s Basketball Defeated by Manhattan in MAAC Opener

Three Red Foxes Score in Double Digits in Home Loss

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team dropped its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener to Manhattan by a score of 80-69 on Monday night at McCann Arena.
 
Summary
  • Manhattan used a 10-0 run to take a 13-5 lead at the 15:20 mark of the first half.
  • A 9-0 Jaspers' run increased their lead to 16.
  • Javon Cooley's three-pointer cut Marist's deficit to five with 3:18 left in the first half, but Manhattan answered by scoring the final eight points of the first half. The Jaspers led 41-28 after 20 minutes.
  • A 10-0 Marist run cut the Red Foxes' deficit to six with 14:35 to go.
  • Manhattan ran its lead back to 14 at the 11:59 mark with an 8-0 run.
