Softball Blanks Bucknell

Haff Strikes Out Nine; Baratta & Brock Homer in 3-0 Victory

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Marist softball team earned its first victory of the 2022 season on Sunday morning with a 3-0 victory over Bucknell in tournament action hosted by UNC Wilmington.
 
Summary
  • Meghan Haff retired the first five batters she faced. When Bucknell had runners on second and third with two outs in the second, Haff recorded a strikeout to end the rally.
  • Caroline Baratta opened the scoring with a home run to lead off the fourth. Miah McDonald followed with a double, and then Hannah Brock's home run gave the Red Foxes a 3-0 lead.
  • Bucknell had a runner on first with one out in the seventh, but first baseman Maddie Gore recorded an unassisted double play on a live drive to end the game.
