WEST POINT, New York - The Marist baseball team will look to build momentum after their weekend sweep of Monmouth with a midweek game at Army. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
 

Last Time Out

• Over the weekend, the Red Foxes played in a MAAC series against Monmouth University. The Red Foxes battled hard and won all three games in the series, 5-4, 8-3, and 13-6, respectively.
• During game two, pitcher Erubiel Candelario had nine strikeouts in five innings pitched. He only allowed five hits and one run, leading the Red Foxes to victory.
• In game three, pitcher Alex Pansini had a solid performance as well, pitching 6 innings while only allowing four hits and getting eight strikeouts.
• In games two and three, every batter for the Red Foxes listed in the line up had at least one hit. Notable batters include Gavin Noriega with three hits in game two and two hits in game three, and Dylan Hoy, who had two hits in game two, and three hits in game three.
• Following the conclusion of this series, the Red Foxes are now 21-14 overall, 10-5 in the MAAC.

 

Scouting Army

• Currently, Army is 20-18 overall, 13-5 in the Patriot League.
• Last week, they played in a Patriot League series against rivals Navy, where they won game one and two, 9-3, 9-1, respectively, but they fell in game 3, 5-0.
• Infielder Sam Ruta holds the team's highest batting average, batting .378 in 119 at-bats.
• Pitcher Connelly Early has the most strikeouts for the team this season (49).
• Against Army, the Red Foxes are 17-13 overall. Their last meeting was three years ago when the Red Foxes beat Army, 11-5.
