Women’s Basketball Takes on Saint Peter’s Saturday Night

Red Foxes and Peacocks Tip Off at 7 p.m.

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The women's basketball team takes on Saint Peter's in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup. The Red Foxes host the Peacocks on Saturday, January 28 at 7 p.m.

Last Time Out
  • The Red Foxes were beaten by Quinnipiac by a score of 58-52.
  • After a back-and-fourth first quarter, Quinnipiac led 13-11. Zaria Shazer got off to a hot start, scoring the first nine points for the Red Foxes.
  • At halftime, Quinnipiac led 35-30 after draining four consecutive field goals to end the second quarter.
  • Shazer continued to pace the Red Foxes as she had 19 points heading into the break.
  • The Bobcats scored six unanswered points to start the second half, giving them their largest lead of the game at 41-30 with 7:52 remaining in the third.
  • Despite going on a 9-0 run in the quarter, Marist found themselves down 48-41 after three.
  • The Red Foxes cut the Bobcats lead to two after a Shazer free throw with 46 seconds left. On the following possession Grace LaBarge converted an and-one to make it 56-51.
  • Marist did not make a field goal in the final 4:36 of play.
  • Zaria Shazer scored a career-high 29 points on 9-for-17 shooting along with another career-high in free throw attempts and makes (11-for-14).
  • Kendall Krick chipped in with nine points, three assists, four rebounds, and four steals.
  • Maeve Donnelly grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go along with a game-high three blocks.
 
About Saint Peter's
  • The Peacocks are currently 0-19 overall and 0-10 in conference play.
  • Saint Peter's is coming off a 65-37 loss to Iona on Thursday night.
  • The Red Foxes and the Peacocks faced one another on Jan. 12, when the Red Foxes defeated the Peacocks, 59-43.
  • Last time, three Red Foxes scored in double figures: Shazer (15), Maeve Donnelly (12), and Kendall Krick (11).
  • Shazer had her second double-double of the season. She also had a game-high 13 rebounds, and came up just one assist shy of a triple-double with nine. The nine assists set a career high.
  • Donnelly scored double figures for the second time this season.
