PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania -  Women's basketball was defeated 74-51 by University of Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon. This marks the first defeat of the season to the Red Foxes.
 

Recap

QTR 1

• The Red Foxes got off to a great start with Morgan Lee and Zaria Shazer; putting away consecutive baskets to put the scoreline at 4-0.
• The Quakers however, went on a 15 point streak taking a commanding lead of the game.
• A Ciara Croker jumper was the last time the Red Foxes got on the board in the first frame as things eventually ended 18-6 in favor of the Quakers.

QTR 2

• Zaria Shazer opened the scoring in the second quarter for the Red Foxes putting the score at 18-8.
• At 6:16 in the second quarter, the Red Foxes had made three consecutive buckets to put the score at 23-17.
• Despite this the red Foxes were held scoreless for the remainder of the second, with a 34-17 scoreline at the half.

QTR 3

• The third quarter began with Penn being in control, putting away six points early before Lexie Tarul sank all three of the free throws she was awarded.
• Kate Robbins put a stop to an eight-point Penn streak with her first collegiate field goal in the paint.
• Julia Corsentino got a three-pointer before Penn closed out the third quarter 53-27.

QTR 4

• Julia Corsentino put away four free throws early in the fourth quarter for the Red Foxes before Zaria Shazer got a bucket from inside the paint.
• Scoring continued to go back and forth between both teams before the end of the game with contributions from Jackie Piddock, Ciara Croker, Kate Robbins and Lexie Tarul.
• Despite Marist's late effort, the game ended 74-51, in favor of the Quakers.

Stats

• Julia Corsentino collected 12 points. four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
• Zaria Shazer had 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
• Lexie Tarul collected eight points and eight rebounds.
