Women's Basketball Travels Down to Georgia For Savannah Hoops Invitational

The Red Foxes are Set to Take on Lehigh and Mercer

SAVANNAH, Georgia - The Red Foxes travel to Georgia for the Savannah Hoops Invitational where they will face Lehigh on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 2:30 p.m. and Mercer on Thursday, Nov. 23 at 11:30 a.m.
 
Last Time Out
The Red Foxes most recently defeated Lafayette in overtime, 84-76, on Nov. 15.
  • Zaria Shazer led the Red Foxes with 29 points on 13-17 from free throws, and recorded nine rebounds.
  • Julia Corsentino had the highest scoring game of her college career, with 23 points on 7-13 from the field, and 4-6 from outside the arc.
  • Corsentino set a season high in every stat category except for rebounds, against Lafayette.
  • The Red Foxes capitalized on turnovers scoring 20 points off of 25 turnovers.
 
Scouting Lehigh
  • The Mountain Hawks are 4-0 overall with a 90-75 win over Yale in their last game.
  • The Mountain Hawks leading scorer is Ella Stemmer averaging 15.3 points per game.
  • Stemmer was named Patriot League player of this week coming off a 19 point performance against Yale.
  • The last time Marist and Lehigh faced off was June.5, 2005. Ending in a 55-53 win for the Red Foxes.
  • The Red Foxes have only played Lehigh twice and won both matchups in 2003 and 2005.
 
Scouting Mercer
  • The Bears are currently 1-4 on the season and will play Bowling Green prior to facing off with the Red Foxes on Thursday.
  • The Bears leading scorer, Stacie Jones, is averaging 11.0 points per game.
  • This will be the second ever matchup between the two teams, with the last one coming as a defeat to the Red Foxes on Nov. 29, 1991.
  • The Bears won that matchup 79-64.
 
  • The Red Foxes close out their long roadtrip with a visit to Ivy League opponent, Yale, on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
