Catie Cunningham led the Red Foxes with a career-high 18 points, but it wasn't enough, as Marist women's basketball came up short on the road against Cornell, 74-61, Thursday afternoon inside Newman Arena.

With the loss, Marist falls to 2-10 on the campaign, while Cornell improves to 6-5 on the 2023-24 season.

FIRST QUARTER
The Big Red jumped out to a 15-0 run to open the contest before the Red Foxes closed the frame with an 11-4 run to trim the deficit to single digits entering the second quarter.

SECOND QUARTER
Marist opened the frame with a 12-6 run, capped by a Lexie Tarul three-pointer to trim the deficit to 25-23, forcing a Cornell timeout with 5:48 remaining in the half.
However, Cornell outscored Marist 12-7 to close the half to carry a 37-30 lead into the break.

THIRD QUARTER
After Marist fell behind 39-32 in the quarter, the Red Foxes responded with an 11-4 run, capped by a
Catie Cunningham three-point play to trim the deficit to 43-41.
After the media timeout, Catie Cunningham scored on a driving layup to extend the run to 15-6 and tie the game at 45-45. After falling behind 46-45, Kiara Fisher found Jackie Piddock on the wing and drilled a three to give Marist its first lead at 48-45, before a buzzer-beater by Cornell tied the game into the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER
The Big Red opened the fourth quarter with a 15-4 run to take a 63-52 lead with 5:19 remaining in regulation. The lead proved to be too much for the Red Foxes, as Cornell held on for the 74-61 victory over Marist.

- Catie Cunningham led the Red Foxes with a career-high 18 points in the contest
- It marks the second time this season that Cunningham reached double-figure scoring, as she scored a previous career-high 17 points in the season-opener against Army West Point
- Kiara Fisher added 10 points and eight assists in the contest
- Fisher has totaled six or more assists in four of the five contests she's played this season
- Fisher had eight assists compared to one turnover
- She's had one or less turnover in four of the five contests she's played in.
- Ciara Croker tied her career-high of eight points in the contest
- Morgan Lee tallied eight points in the contest
