POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's lacrosse team has announced it's captains for the 2024 season. The reigning MAAC champions will be led by
Eddie Capone,
Keenan DeRaeve,
Kurt Wessner and
Joshua Balcarcel.
"This fall semester has been unbelievable and the incredible work that the team has put in is a direct reflection of our upper classmen leadership. From the minute we returned to campus for this year Josh, Eddie, Kurt and Keenan have been fantastic and that was very clear as we reviewed the voting results from our student athletes. These four have consistently displayed their leadership capabilities to their teammates across all areas of our program. Our staff is excited to announce their selections and we know that the team is excited to work with these four as we continue our journey together for the 2024 season," said Head Coach Keegan Wilkinson.

A senior Defensive Midfielder from Yorktown Heights, NY, Eddie Capone joined the men's lacrosse program in 2021.
- Capone has appeared in 12 games for the Red Foxes.
- A pivotal member of the Short Stick Defensive Midfield group during the 2023 MAAC Championship run where he helped limit Mount St Mary's and Siena to just 7 goals in both the MAAC Semi Final and Championship games.
- He has been selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team three times.
A fifth-year Defensive Midfielder from Lake Oswego, OR, Keenan DeRaeve joined the men's lacrosse program in 2020.
- Has played in 39 games for the Red Foxes in which he has tallied four goals, three assists, 52 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers.
- Collected career-highs across the board last season with 18 games played, three goals, three assists, 31 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers
- He has been selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team three times and the Academic All-District Team once.
A fifth-year defender from Pineville, PA, Kurt Wessner has been with the men's lacrosse program since 2020.
- Has played in 43 games for the Red Foxes, collecting 41 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers.
- Played and started in a career-high 18 games last season where he picked up nine caused turnovers and a career-best 20 ground balls.
- He has been named to the MAAC All-Academic Team three times, MAAC All-Championship Team once, All-MAAC Second Team once and Academic All-District once.
A senior attacker from Milford, PA, Josh Balcarcel has been a member of the men's lacrosse program since 2021.
- Has played in 36 games for the Red Foxes, putting up 28 goals,14 assists and 23 ground balls.
- Collected career-highs in most major categories in 2023 with 18 games played, 21 goals, 12 assists and 15 ground balls.
- Has been selected to the MAAC All-Championship Team once and the MAAC All-Academic Team twice.
