Women’s Basketball Set to Host Mount St. Mary’s

Red Foxes Looking for Their Second Win Over the Mount This Season

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's basketball team will host Mount St. Mary's this Thursday, Feb. 2.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in the McCann Arena.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Saint Peter's held the lead in this game only twice when the score was 2-0 and 4-2.
  • After getting off to a slow start in the first quarter, the Red Foxes went on a 15-0 run. They wound up leading by a score of 17-6 at the end of the quarter.
  • At halftime, the Red Foxes were able to extend their lead even more, going up 34-18.
  • In the third quarter, the Red Foxes were able to outscore Saint Peter's 25-12, in large part because of Kendall Krick, who scored 11 points in the quarter.
  • Marist shot 8-for-12 from the field in the third quarter (.667) and 5-for-6 from behind the three point line (.833).
  • Marist won by 26 points, the Red Foxes' largest margin of victory this season.
  • Krick tied her season high with 20 points, shooting 7-for-11 from the field and 6-for-9 from the three-point line. Krick was the only Red Fox with double-digit points.
  • Samantha Bailey tied her season high as well with nine points shooting 3-for-5 from the field and 1-for-3 from behind the arc.
  • Morgan Tompkins scored a career high six points in tonight's game.
  • Ciara Croker had career highs of six points and seven rebounds in just nine minutes. Croker's seven rebounds tied Zaria Shazer and Kiara Fisher for the team high.
  • In addition to her seven rebounds, Fisher had a game-high five assists plus seven points and three steals.
  • Shazer had a game-high five steals to go along with eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists. She has 12 steals in her last three games.
  • Marist outrebounded Saint Peter's 53-33.
  • Marist had 25 bench points.
ABOUT MOUNT ST. MARY'S
  • Mount St. Mary's is 8-12 overall and 4-7 in the MAAC.
  • The Red Foxes and the Mount faced each other on Jan. 19, when the Red Foxes had a 83-77 victory.
  • Kiara Fisher set the Red Foxes' single-game scoring record with 44 points in their 83-77 victory over the Mount.
  • The Mount is coming off a 73-54 loss to Niagara from this past Saturday.
  • Michaela Harrison leads the Mount in points with 273 points total, averaging 13.7 per game.

  • The Red Foxes will head to Quinnipiac for a conference matchup on Saturday, Feb. 4.
