Women's Basketball Hosts Canisius on Play4Kay Night

Red Foxes & Golden Griffins Tip at 7 p.m. on ESPN3

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's basketball team is set to host Canisius in their 13th annual Play4Kay Game. At the game against the Golden Griffins there will be a halftime salute to the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and local breast cancer survivors.

  • The Marist Woman's basketball team's drops a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game against the Rider Broncs by a final score of 60-54.
  • In the third quarter, Rider were dominant going on a 14-2 run, where they eventually took their first lead of the game midway through the third quarter.
  • Zaria Shazer led the Red Foxes with 20 points shooting 5 for 15 from the field, and 10 for 12 from the free throw line.
  • Kiara Fisher also shot 5 for 15 from the field and 2 for 5 from the three-point line.
  • Marist shot 32.7% from the field 17 for 52, and 5 for 18 from the three-point line 27.8%.
  • Marist had the lead for 24:12, 60.5% of the game, while Rider only had it for 15:05, 37.7% of the game.
 
About Canisius
  • Canisius is currently in ninth place in the MAAC with a conference record of 3-10 and an overall record of 6-16.
  • Their three conference wins were against Rider (Dec. 17), Marist (Dec. 19), and Saint Peter's (Jan. 5).
  • The Red Foxes and the Golden Griffins first faced off on Dec. 19, when the Red Foxes were defeated 65-61.
  • Kiara Fisher led that game with 23 points, while also collecting three steals, three blocks and two assists.
  • The Golden Griffins are on a seven-game losing streak.

  • The Red Foxes will travel to Manhattan and host Siena next week.
  • On Thursday, Feb. 16 the Red Foxes will play at Manhattan with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
  • The following Saturday, Feb. 18, the Red Foxes will host Siena at 7 p.m. Prior to the game, the Red Foxes' senior will be honored.
