Men's Basketball Drops Home Game to Fairfield

Gardner Leads Red Foxes with 13 Points

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's basketball team fell to the Fairfield Stags, 70-61, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup at McCann arena on Friday night.
 
Summary
  • The Red Foxes jumped out to an early 9-0 lead as they forced four turnovers and knocked down their first four shots in the opening four minutes.
  • Marist pushed the lead to 23-8 with 11:18 remaining in the half as they started a perfect 10-for-10 from the field.
  • The Stags used an 8-0 run to make it 23-16 at the 7:15 mark.
  • Fairfield hit its final four shots of the half to cut Marist's lead to one and make it 32-31 after 20 minutes.
  • A 9-0 run to start the second half gave the Stags a 40-32 lead with 17:41 remaining. The Red Foxes countered with a 7-0 run to make it 40-39 at the 15:54 mark.
