POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's basketball team fell to the Fairfield Stags, 70-61, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup at McCann arena on Friday night.

- The Red Foxes jumped out to an early 9-0 lead as they forced four turnovers and knocked down their first four shots in the opening four minutes.
- Marist pushed the lead to 23-8 with 11:18 remaining in the half as they started a perfect 10-for-10 from the field.
- The Stags used an 8-0 run to make it 23-16 at the 7:15 mark.
- Fairfield hit its final four shots of the half to cut Marist's lead to one and make it 32-31 after 20 minutes.
- A 9-0 run to start the second half gave the Stags a 40-32 lead with 17:41 remaining. The Red Foxes countered with a 7-0 run to make it 40-39 at the 15:54 mark.
- Fairfield used a 6-0 run to push their lead to double digits and take a 56-46 lead with 9:29 remaining.
- The Stags' largest lead of the game was 13, at 64-51 with 4:07 left in the game.
- A Kam Farris three-pointer got the Red Foxes within seven as it was 68-61 with 22 seconds left.
- The Stags were held without a field goal the final 4:25, but went 8-for-9 from the line in this time.
- Patrick Gardner scored a team-high 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.
- Noah Harris contributed with 11 points, four assists, and three steals.
- Javon Cooley scored 11 points as well, to go along with four rebounds and a steal.
- Jaden Daughtry led Marist with seven rebounds.
- Caleb Fields and TJ Long each scored 21 for Fairfield.
- Marist shot 23-for-54 (.426) while Fairfield shot 23-for-46 (.500).
- The Stags had a 34-26 edge in rebounds
- Harris' four assists and three steals tied his career-highs.
- Gardner has now led Marist in scoring for 13 straight games, and 19 of Marist's 25 contests this season.
- The Red Foxes fall to 8-17 on the season and 4-12 in the MAAC.
- The Stags improve to 12-14 overall and 8-8 in conference play.
