Swim & Dive Earn Eight Academic All-District Honorees

Red Foxes Selected For Academic & Athletic Achievements

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its Academic All-District honorees for swimming & diving on Tuesday. Marist swim and dive earned eight honorees for the high achievement.

 
Academic All-District Honorees

Christopher Dauser:
  • Business Major
  • Dauser won silver at the MAAC Championships, being apart of the 200-yard medley relay team.
  • Dauser also won silver apart of the 800-yard freestyle relay at the MAAC Championships.
  • Dauser placed first in the 100-yard IM against Binghamton University.
 
Jacob Macrina:
  • Applied Mathematics Major
  • Macrina placed first in the 100-yard backstroke against Southern Connecticut (53.23).
  • Finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with team against Bryant University.
  • 2023 MAAC All-Academic team.
 
Tyler Wenzel:
  • Biology Major
  • Captain of the Red Foxes diving team.
  • Wenzel finished second in the one-meter dive (239.40) at the ECAC Championships.
  • Wenzel finished third in the three-meter dive at the ECAC Championships.
  • Wenzel placed fifth in the three-meter dive final (220.55) at the MAAC Championships.
  • Swept the podium in the one-meter and three-meter dives in win against Colgate.
  • A two-time MAAC Diver of the Week award winner.
 
Luciano Mattoli:
  • Computer Science Major
  • Finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with team against Bryant University.
  • 2023 MAAC All-Academic team.
 
Leigh-Anne Zanella:
  • Business Major
  • Won gold in the 200-yard butterfly at the MAAC Championships (2:05.57).
  • Zanella finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly at the MAAC Championships.
  • Placed first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.15) against Bryant University.
  • Zanella placed first in the 200-yard butterfly against Fairfield University.
  • 2023 MAAC All-Academic team.
 
Nellie Thompson:
  • Criminal Justice Major
  • 2023 MAAC All-Academic team.
  • Won MAAC Swimmer of the Week for her performance against Colgate.
  • Won bronze apart of the 400-yard IM relay team at the MAAC Championships.
  • Captured bronze in the 100-yard freestyle at the MAAC Championships.
 
Molly Hewett:
  • Biomedical Sciences Major
  • Finished seventh in the 200-yard backstroke final at the MAAC Championships.
  • 2023 MAAC All-Academic team.
  • Placed sixth in the 400-yard IM at the MAAC Championships (4:31.93).
  • Placed ninth in the 200-yard IM at the MAAC Championships (2:11.03).
  • Hewett placed first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.78) against Binghamton University.
 
Melanie Nunn:
  • Pyschology Major
  • 2023 MAAC All-Academic team.
  • Finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly final (2:07.07) at the MAAC Championships.
  • Won bronze at the MAAC Championships apart of the 800-yard freestyle relay team (7:38.30).
