PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Marist men's track team had a successful two-day stay at the historic Penn Relays, held at the University of Pennsylvania.
On Friday evening in a chilly, wind-driven rain, the sprint medley relay team of
Amari Mathis,
Ryan Bahnsen,
Easton Eberwein and
Tyler Perry charged to victory in Section 1 of the Championship of America. The team held the fastest time in the event through Section 2, and wound up finishing eighth overall out of 19 teams in 3:33.72.
Later on Friday evening, the 1,600-meter relay team of Bahnsen, Perry,
Roshan Kalikasingh and Eberwein placed 14
th of 22 teams in the Eastern sections in 3:30.26.
On Thursday evening,
Kieran Donnelly ran the fastest time by a Marist freshman at Penn Relays at 5,000 meters, placing 63
rd out of 77 runners in 14:46.42. Donnelly has already qualified for that event and the 10,000-meter run at the IC4A Championships later this spring.
