TALLAHASSEE, Florida – The Marist softball team is set to open NCAA Regional play on Friday. The Red Foxes will face third overall seed Florida State on Friday at 4 p.m., with the game being shown on ESPN+.

- This is Marist's fourth trip to NCAA Regionals.
- The Red Foxes previously made appearances in 2006, 2013, and 2016
- Marist is seeking its first NCAA win in program history.

- Marist is 29-28 overall. The Red Foxes went 12-8 in the MAAC regular season, earning the #3 seed in the MAAC Championship, and then won all four games in tournament play.
- Marist's Spring Break trip included tournaments at South Florida in back-to-back weekends and included games against Texas, Penn State, Illinois, South Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Iowa, and Lehigh. Marist went 1-9 on this trip, but the Red Foxes have won 21 of their last 31 since.
- Marist has 112 stolen bases this year. This is the Red Foxes' second highest total in program history and most in seven years. Marist is 21st in the NCAA in stolen bases per game (1.96).
- Of Marist's 29 wins this season, 11 came by the mercy rule. The Red Foxes went 6-16 in the regular season in games decided by one or two runs but their first three games in the MAAC Championship were all victories by either one or two runs.
- Marist did not commit an error in the MAAC Championship. The four-game streak without an error is the Red Foxes' longest of the season. Catchers Shea Walsh and Isabella Manory combined to throw out five of eight potential base stealers in the championship.
- Marist scored seven runs in the seventh inning during the MAAC Championship.
