LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – The Marist women's soccer team defeats Rider to collect its first win of the season. The Red Foxes win by a score of 1-0 to open conference play.
"Today's game was a hard-fought battle for 90 minutes and exactly what MAAC play will look like," said Head Coach
Nicole Pacapelli. "I was really proud of our girls for executing our game plan and getting the three points today on the road. They have been working so hard against tough non-conference opponents to grow and get to this point and they deserved every bit of it."
- Twelve minutes into the match the Red Foxes offense fired five shots, one shot on goal.
- The Broncs and Red Foxes headed into halftime tied at 0-0.
- Marist had five corner opportunities in the first half.
- In the 81st minute, Anna Maggi scored off an assist from Amanda Caldarelli to give the Red Foxes a 1-0 lead.
- Red Foxes held onto the lead to win the conference matchup against Rider, 1-0.
- The Red Foxes will wrap up non-conference play at Bryant this Wednesday, September 13.
- Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
