POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team's 2024 schedule has been released. Coming off a MAAC championship season in 2023, the Red Foxes have 55 games on this year's slate.
 

Opening Tournaments

Prior to Spring Break, the Red Foxes will play in three tournaments, which will account for their first 15 games.

• Abilene Christian Tournament: Marist opens its season on Friday, Feb. 16 against Houston Christian (11 a.m. Eastern) and New Mexico (2 p.m.). The Red Foxes will face Houston Christian (11 a.m.) and Abilene Christian (2 p.m.) on Feb. 17, and New Mexico on Feb. 18 at 11 a.m.
• Red & Black Classic: Marist will play two games against Lindenwood, two against Hampton, and one against host Gardner-Webb the weekend of Feb. 23-25.
• Norfolk State Tournament: From March 1-3, the Red Foxes will take on Fairleigh Dickinson twice along with one game apiece against Hampton, Central Connecticut State, and Norfolk State.

 

Spring Break

Over Spring Break, Marist will play 11 games in nine days on two coasts.

• From March 8-10, the Red Foxes will play five games in the Jacksonville Spring Break Challenge. Marist will face Presbyterian twice along with North Florida, host Jacksonville, and Tarleton State once apiece.
• Marist will play a doubleheader at Bethune-Cookman on Jan. 12.
• The Red Foxes will then travel to California for four games in the Saint Mary's Round Robin. Marist will play North Dakota State and Saint Mary's on both March 15 and March 16.

 

Conference Play

This season, Marist will play three-game series against conference opponents. The Red Foxes will face eight MAAC foes for a total of 24 MAAC contests.

• Quinnipiac: home – doubleheader March 23, single game March 24
• Niagara: road – doubleheader March 29, single game March 30
• Mount St. Mary's: home – doubleheader April 6, single game April 7
• Siena: road – doubleheader April 9, single game April 10
• Iona: home – doubleheader April 20, single game April 21
• Saint Peter's: road – doubleheader April 23, single game April 24
• Canisius: home – doubleheader April 27, single game April 28
• Fairfield: road – doubleheader May 3, single game May 4

 

Non-Conference

Marist will also face three non-conference opponents after Spring Break:

• Cornell: home – single game, April 3
• Lehigh: home – doubleheader, April 13
• Lafayette: road – doubleheader, May 1

 
The MAAC Championship will be held from May 8-11 at the home of the #1 seed.
