Maggi and Cassano Push Red Foxes Past Niagara

Catalanotti Records Fifth Shutout of Season

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York. – Graduate student forward Sofia Cassano scored a goal in the second minute and the Red Foxes never looked back, as Marist women's downed MAAC foe Niagara, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon inside Tenney Stadium.

Anna Maggi and Cassano recorded a goal apiece, while Maddy Catalanotti notched the fifth shutout of the season behind three saves in the victory.

With the victory, Marist improved to 3-8-2 on the campaign and 3-4-1 in the MAAC, while Niagara fell to 5-6-2 on the season and 1-5-2 in conference play with the loss.

Today was all about the number three, three points. We knew how important it was for us to get a really big win at home today just being that tight in the table, everything matters. The girls were really excited about it. We had some really great training sessions the last two days and I think it really showed on the scoreboard.
