FAIRFIELD, Connecticut - The Marist volleyball team was defeated 3-1 by Sacred Heart on Saturday night.
Sara Dasic hit .263 while recording a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs.
Katherine Thompson tallied 12 digs and three receptions
Taylor Miller led the Red Foxes with 15 kills.

The Pioneers jumped out to a 5-2 lead to start the match. The Red Foxes would eventually battle back to within one point at 14-13. However this would be the closest the Red Foxes would get to tying the frame as Sacred Heart regain control.
The Pioneers would go on to take the set 25-18.

A much more even set to start, the second would sit at a score of 8-8. The Red Foxes would then go on to take a commanding lead, taking eight of the next nine points and put the score at 16-9. Sacred Heart would immediately go on a seven-point rally to tie things up at 16-16.
Sacred Heart would take nine of the next 13 points to seal the frame 25-20.

The momentum would continue into the third, as Sacred Heart would get out to a 6-2 lead. Momentum would change with the score at 16-10 for Sacred Heart with the Red Foxes going on a seven-point run to take the 17-16 lead.
The Red Foxes would eventually take the set 25-22.

Set four began with a back and fourth battle with each team trading blows, eventually working up to a score of 7-7. Sacred Heart would then take seven of the next eight points to put the score at 14-8 in favor of the Pioneers. Throughout the entirety of the fourth set, the Red Foxes were hurt most by their low hitting percentage of .107 and seven attack errors.
The Pioneers would go on to take the set 25-20.
