Women's Swimming & Diving Prepares For First-Ever Meet Against Vermont

Red Foxes Look to Secure First Win of the Season

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's swimming and diving team gears up for a home meet against the University of Vermont this Saturday, October 5th, at 1:00 p.m. in the McCann Natatorium. Both teams enter the meet looking for their first win of the season, as each is coming off a season-opening loss.

The first home meet of the season for the women's team will serve as the Breast Cancer Awareness meet.

Key Events

200 Freestyle:
Junior Charlotte Lepis, who finished fourth in this event at the 2024 MAAC Championships with a time of 1:53.31, will be one of the key swimmers for Marist. Joining her will be grad student transfer Eydis Kolbeinsdóttir, whose best time of 1:51.89 would have placed her third at last year's MAAC Championships. Freshman Emme Metzmaker also brings talent to the pool, with a personal best of 1:55.01.

100 Breaststroke:
This event will feature a close race between teammates. Sophomore April Avila, who placed third at last year's MAAC Championships with a time of 1:02.81, faces tough competition from freshman Rae Dodson, whose personal best of 1:02.62 is just fractions of a second off of Avila's.

200 Backstroke:
Marist is led by junior Milena Judge and sophomore Caitlin Riordan, who both finished in the top eight at the 2024 MAAC Championships. Judge placed fourth with a time of 2:03.61, while Riordan came in seventh at 2:04.78. They'll be joined by Geneviev O'Neil, the reigning MAAC Champion in the 400 Individual Medley, who has a best time of 2:03.77.

200 Medley Relay:
The returning relay team of Milena Judge, April Avila, and Sophia Swanson holds the Marist school record and will look to continue their success after placing fourth at last year's MAAC Championships. They will be joined by Eydis Kolbeinsdóttir.
