ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – Sophomore guards
Josh Pascarelli and
Jadin Collins-Roberts of the Marist men's basketball team were both named Preseason All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Pascarelli was a First Team honoree, while Collins-Roberts was a Second Team selection.
This marked the first time Marist had two Preseason All-MAAC selections since Chavaughn Lewis and Khallid Hart were both named Preseason Second Team All-MAAC prior to the 2014-15 season. Pascarelli is Marist's first Preseason First Team All-MAAC selection since Hart prior to the 2016-17 season.
- Pascarelli was a MAAC All-Rookie Team selection last year.
- Ranked in the top 10 in the MAAC in both three-point percentage (.378, sixth) and three-pointers per game (2.0, ninth).
- Scored a season-high 26 points at Dartmouth on Dec. 9, which earned him MAAC Rookie of the Week two days later.
- Had 16 games with at least 10 points last season, with four of at least 20.
- Averaged 10.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game last year.
- Collins-Roberts was a MAAC All-Championship Team selection last year.
- Was the only Red Fox to start all 31 games last season.
- Had highs of 20 points and five steals plus four assists while shooting 9-for-11 from the field against Niagara in the MAAC Championship quarterfinals on March 14.
- Notched his first collegiate double-double with 11 points and a career-high 11 rebounds at Quinnipiac on March 7.
- Averaged 9.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals (seventh in the MAAC) last season.
- Marist was picked to finish second with 144 points.
- The Red Foxes received one first-place vote.
- This is the highest Marist has been chosen in the Preseason Poll since being picked first prior to the 2006-07 season. The Red Foxes won the MAAC regular-season title that year.
- Last year, Marist had its highest seed in the MAAC Championship (third) in 17 years, and its highest win total in 16 years.
